Kukkolaforsen

On my first trip to Finland in 2006 with my husband, we had a quick stop at Kukkolaforsen.
Első finnnországi utazásom során, 2006-ban a férjemmel tettünk egy rövid kirándulást a Kukkolaforsenhez.

The fishing village lies on the Swedish side, by the Torne river which is a border between Sweden and Finland, close to the North Polar Circle.
A halászfalu a svéd oldalon fekszik a Torne folyam mellett, ami határt alkot Svéd- és Finnország között, és közel az Északi-sarkkörhöz.

Wild wild water...

We were eating some very nice fish but don't ask its name... You can have it in the fancy restaurant as well, but it fits better to the spirit of the place to have it wrapped in paper and you sit down in the grass by the river.
Valami nagyon finom halat ettünk, de ne kérdezd a nevét... El lehet fogyasztani a csillogó étteremben is, de jobban illik a hely szelleméhez, ha papírba csomagolva vesszük, és leülünk vele a fűbe a folyóparton.

Moldavia trip with music - Zenés moldvai utazás

I thought the pictures of my wonderful trip to Moldva (Moldavia) last summer disappeared, but when I found them, got so happy that I couldn't help but arranged some of them to a song from that area.

House in Oradea - Ház Nagyváradon

I went to Oradea (Nagyvárad) for a quick visit in February this year, for a Csango conference.
Idén februárban gyors látogatást tettem Nagyváradra, egy csángó konferenciára.

The city is close to the Hungarian border, Debrecen not too far away on the other side.
Ez a város közel van a magyar határhoz, a másik oldalon Debrecen nincs tőle túl messze.

And for you foreigner readers: it is also a historical Hungarian city, with great cultural background and is one of the most prosperous towns in Romania.
A külföldi olvasók kedvéért: ez szintén egy történelmi magyar város, nagyszerű kulturális háttérrel, és Románia egyik legvirágzóbb városa.

It was a nice, clear, sunny winter day and my first impression about the city (having been there twice, looong time ago) was this: it has a lot of extremely beautiful buildings, many of them are art nouveau, but they are not maintained and rather in a poor condition. Like this one:
